The eight-story building of Miyoshi Grand Hotel is a noticeable landmark in the city of Miyoshi, and the hotel’s bright wedding chapel is often used when locals tie the knot, but the variety of rooms and convenient location make the hotel an obvious choice for all kinds of visitors arriving in Miyoshi!

Just a 10-minute walk from Miyoshi Station and a 3-minute drive from the local highway, Miyoshi Grand Hotel’s variety of facilities makes it a popular setting for events of all kinds, held in the hall, restaurant, meeting room, or the hotel’s little chapel. But these facilities also come in handy for guests staying in any of the hotel’s many rooms, which range from compact singles to the more luxuriously spacious deluxe twin. The rooms are clean and simple, with fluffy comforters topping the firm mattresses, and for particularly tall foreign guests who might find the beds a bit small, they even have footrests ready to save the day. The rooms on the higher floors have especially nice views, too, with windows looking out across the Miyoshi landscape in one direction, and a fun view of the JR train tracks in the other.

Miyoshi Grand Hotel relied on the patronage of business travelers for quite a few years, but these days it attracts more and more guests who come to Miyoshi for leisure, and the hotel is working to accommodate the needs of those customers as well. Wedding-goers looking to stay over and enjoy Miyoshi have increased since locals found themselves charmed (and inspired to book a wedding venue) by a flashy bridal fair held by Miyoshi Grand Hotel staff in 2019, and the hotel aims to be an ideal accommodation option for travelers visiting the city. For years, Miyoshi Grand Hotel has been working with the local tourism sector, and they now offer plans for eager sightseers to easily reserve a seat to watch local ukai cormorant fishing through the hotel, or purchase tickets to nearby performances of Kagura dance.

For overnight guests or anyone in the area, the hotel’s eateries are also worth checking out. The hotel’s “tea lounge” offers a simple menu of coffee and tea, plus dessert sets with cake or ice cream. Thanks to the convenience of hotel wi-fi, it’s a convenient place to relax and recharge near Miyoshi Station. Miyoshi Grand Hotel’s restaurant, Chateaubriand, is normally known for its buffet featuring both Japanese and Western cuisine. With the buffet currently closed as a COVID-19 safety measure, customers have found the restaurant’s lunch and dinner sets to be a satisfying replacement. Plenty of diners now frequent the hotel restaurant for Japanese curry or karaage fried chicken. Stop by to see what they have to offer!

This photo was taken at the buffet, but their current steak lunch set includes a steak, soup, salad, and either bread or Japanese rice for 1,500 yen.
